This is a supplementary book to be used in conjunction with Minna no Nihongo: Intermediate Level II – Main Text. This book provides English translations of the conversations presented in the Main Text as well as comprehensive vocabulary guides for each unit. The second half of the book is a very useful grammar guide, providing lots of explanations and examples of the main grammatical structures found in the 12 units of the main text.

Minna no Nihongo is probably the most famous series of Japanese language study guides, used widely in universities, language schools, and privately around the world. The original Shokyu (upper-beginner level) books were so popular when they first came out in 1998 that the publishers received an overwhelming number of requests to expand them into a full series. The Chukyu books are the follow-ups to the originals and were created for students of an intermediate-to upper-intermediate level.
