Highly recommended Japanese language education publisher ASK has teamed up with popular Japanese language learning YouTuber Yuka Murakami, otherwise known as Yuka-Sensei, from the excellent YouTube channel Nihongo No Mori to create a super useful compact book for learning natural Japanese conversational expressions. 

There are three sections to the book, each with three to five sub-chapters. The first section focuses on phrases you are probably already using – but using incorrectly or in a way that seems rude for native Japanese people. The second section is dedicated to words with complicated meanings, like words with different meanings from the textbook definition and words with tricky differences. The final section of the book covers conversation phrases that will make your Japanese sound really natural, introducing things like “vague words”, “cushion words”, and natural reactions and ways to express your feelings.

Every chapter is broken down further into around five to six separate phrases, each with a really useful example conversation that will help you understand how to use the phrases introduced and pick up some other vocabulary and grammatical structures at the same time. Furthermore, at the end of each chapter, there is an interesting cultural point that will help people who want to live in Japan.
This is a great easy-to-follow book for beginner-to-intermediate level students that will really help you sound a lot more natural in Japanese conversations with friends, family, fellow students, or coworkers!
