From the textbook's introduction:

This book is designed as a 6-week course. You will start with "Text Grammar" which provides the basics for reading comprehension, and will study reading comprehension of short passages, and will gradually move on to information retrieval and reading comprehension of long passages. Every week from Day 1 to Day 6, you will practice reading various sentence structures, and on Day 7, you will review what you have learned in the practice exercise which follows the JLPT format.

English translations are provided for key expressions.
